South Kaibab Trail, Grand Canyon
September 19th, 2009
The South Kaibab Trail is one of the few trails that enter the Grand Canyon along a ridge line. It is one of the most spectacular trails, decending to the Colorado river
in just 6.7 miles, making it much steeper (and much more exposed) than the more popular Bright Angel Trail.
We hiked 1.5 miles along the trail, decending 1,200 ft to Cedar Ridge before turning around. But next time, we'll take this trail all the way to the river.

From the South Rim, the 'Trail Overlook' looks down on the Bright Angel Trail, where you can see almost all of the trail from Indian Garden to the top if the South Rim.
